EAT6 GEARBOX

The 1.2L PureTech 110 S&S model of the PEUGEOT 208 is fitted with the EAT6 six-speed automatic conversion gearbox, optimising fuel consumption and reinforcing the sensory driving experience. It is also equipped with the Quickshift technology, guaranteeing smooth and rapid gear changes.

Furthermore, its energy efficiency is virtually equivalent to that of a mechanical gearbox due to reduced internal friction and the use of lock-up clutch converters wherever necessary to prevent slippage.

This results in a 5g/km reduction in emissions compared with a manual gearbox (with iso tyres), making this model excellent in terms of both experience and fuel consumption.

PURETECH ENGINES

Technology

This high-performance modular, compact and ethical three-cylinder engine is packed with efficiency and cutting-edge technology. It offers one of the best driving experiences on the market, from the lowest of rpms, with an excellent trade-off between low rpm and power. This technological breakthrough therefore helps reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 25% without compromising on power or driving experience.

The PEUGEOT 208 comes with combined consumption economical petrol engines, all of which run at under 4.5 L/100kmi

Combined with the EAT6 automatic gearbox, the 1.2L PureTech 110 S&S EAT6 turbo model offers CO2 emission levels of only 104g/kmi, making it the leading automatic petrol model in its segment.

BlueHDi ENGINES

Technology

The BlueHDi generation of engines with which the new PEUGEOT 208 is fitted meet the Euro 6 standard (i: in Europe). 

BlueHDi engines combine superior performance with controlled fuel consumption and reduced emissions. All of the ones used for the PEUGEOT 208 generate less than 95g/km CO2 and 3.6 L/100kmi, making the 1.6L BlueHDi family the most economical and efficient range of diesel engines on the market, with record combined CO2 emissions of 79g/km in the 75hp and 100hp i low-consumption models.

DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER AND SELECTIVE CATALYTIC REDUCTION

BlueHDi technology optimises fuel consumptioni by exclusively combining the SCRi and DPFi technologies.

Fitting the SCR technology upstream of the DPF additive has the following benefits:

  •  Reduces NOx (nitrogen oxide) by up to 90%
  • Removes 99.9% of fine particles.
  • Optimises CO2 emissions and fuel consumption (up to 4% reduction compared to Euro 5 engines).
  • Faster initiation, after starting the vehicle, due to the engine’s lower running temperature.

STOP & START

The quick, efficient and silent Stop & Starti technology enables you to put the engine into 'standby' mode just before and during a stationary period, resulting in improved control of fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions.

The Very Low Fuel Consumption version of the 1.6L BlueHDi 100 S&S PEUGEOT 208 with manual 5-speed gearbox has set a new long-distance fuel consumption record approved by the UTACi at France's Belchamp track. 

2,152km were travelled in 38 hoursi and on 43 litres of diesel, that is an average rate of fuel consumption of just 2.0 L /100km. This record confirms the technological excellence of Euro 6 BlueHDi diesel engines and the contribution they make to reducing CO2 emissions. 

The PEUGEOT 208 is therefore the world's leading standard production model with a heat engine.
